About Us

I’m an educator, researcher, education leader, consultant, and parent with more than 20 years of experience in education. I hold a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Toronto, and my career has been dedicated to understanding what makes schools, leaders, and educational communities thrive.

My work is grounded in a rare combination of experience: decades spent inside schools, leadership across a range of educational initiatives, published research and policy scholarship, university teaching, and the experience of raising three children through the education system. This allows me to connect rigorous research with the realities of the people who live and lead education every day.

I founded JCL Education Consulting to bring that depth of knowledge to schools and educational organizations seeking thoughtful, meaningful growth. I work alongside leaders to uncover what is happening beneath the surface, identify opportunities, strengthen alignment, and turn evidence into clear, purposeful action.

I believe the strongest organizations don’t begin with predetermined solutions. They begin by asking better questions, listening carefully, and understanding what is already there.
